Grove, Jay, Afton, Miami, Vinita, Ketchum, Langley and around Grand Lake. Real tech help from someone who will take the time to explain it, remotely today and in person once we have a Local Nerd on the lake.
Remote help is $39 for a 30-minute session, available in Grove today. In-person visits open here when we have a Local Nerd on the ground.
A 30-minute remote session is $39 and handles most computer, phone, email, password and account problems without anybody driving anywhere. In-person visits open here as soon as we have a Local Nerd on the ground, and that is a real bottleneck rather than a marketing date. If that could be you, we would like to hear from you.
No jargon, no sighing, no making you feel silly for asking. We explain what we are doing while we do it, and we are glad to explain it twice.
If it works in one room and not the next, that is a coverage problem and it is fixable. We would rather move things around than sell you a bigger bill.
New TV set up and mounted, streaming apps sorted out, remotes that work, and one clear explanation of which button does what.
Half of smart home gear gets installed by whoever sold it and explained to nobody. We make it work together and make sure the alerts reach you.
Slow, cluttered, full of things you did not install. We will clean it up, get it current, and set up a backup that runs without you thinking about it.
Not a rushed fix and out the door. If you want to understand it so you can do it yourself next time, that is our favorite kind of visit.
New phone and everything is in the wrong place. We move it all across, sort the photos out, and make it readable again.
It worked yesterday and today it does not exist. That is a known and very annoying problem, it is not you, and we can fix it.
We will go through what is on there, get rid of what should not be, and show you how to spot the next one.
Grand Lake is the most seasonal market we serve, and second homes have a completely different set of problems from year-round houses. Internet that has to stay up while nobody is there. A camera you want to check in February from somewhere warmer. A TV setup that guests and grandkids can operate without calling you. We do a lot of arrive-and-everything-is-broken visits at the start of the season, and a lot of make-sure-it-survives-the-winter visits at the end of it.
Grand Lake has one of the largest retirement communities in this part of the country, and honestly it is a big part of why this market matters to us. Unhurried, patient, one-on-one help, and a standing offer to teach you rather than just fix it and leave.
We will say this plainly: if a thing is confusing, the thing is badly made. Nobody is born knowing where the settings are, and none of this was designed with you in mind. So there is no question we think is too basic, and there is no such thing as asking us twice. We would genuinely rather spend the extra ten minutes making it make sense than fix it silently and leave you no better off than before we arrived.
Our service area is a distance, not a state line. We measure straight-line miles from Grove and the hourly rate steps up the farther we drive, which is how the drive gets paid for. That is 181 towns across Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma, covering Delaware, Ottawa, Craig and Mayes counties, plus Benton County in Arkansas and McDonald County in Missouri.

Not sure which band you are in? Check your ZIP and you will get a straight answer for your address before you book anything.
Somebody two states away is worried that Mom cannot get the TV back to normal, or that Dad keeps getting locked out of his email, and there is nobody nearby to just go and sit with them. You can arrange it for them. Book the session or gift a membership, we handle it directly with them at a time that suits, and you do not have to talk anybody through anything over the phone at nine at night.
Send a Nerd →Not yet. Remote help is available today. In-person visits open when we have a Local Nerd on the lake, and the waitlist is the fastest way to hear.
Much of Benton County, Arkansas falls inside the 75 miles we measure from the Grand Lake anchor, along with a corner of southwest Missouri. The service area is a distance, not a state line, so type your ZIP when you book and you will get a real answer for your address.
Remote help is $39 for a 30-minute session. In-person visits start at $110 an hour within 25 miles of Grove, $130 in the 25 to 50 mile band and $145 from 50 to 75 miles, because the higher rate is how we pay for the drive. There is also a Nerd on Call membership at $19.99 a month that includes two remote sessions and an in-person visit a year plus 20% off anything extra. You always approve the price before we start.
Yes, and it is a lot of what we do. Patient, one-on-one, at your pace, in plain English, with no sighing and no jargon. If you want to be taught rather than just fixed, say so when you book. That is the visit we like best.
No. We set things up, get them working and explain them; we do not open machines up to replace parts or recover data off a dead drive. When that is what the problem turns out to be, we say so and point you somewhere useful rather than billing you to discover it.
That is the honest bottleneck. Not demand, not geography: a Local Nerd who knows the area, likes people, and is good at explaining things. Set your own availability, keep the majority of every booking, and help your neighbors with the stuff they cannot get their heads around. See what the role involves or apply here.
Remote help works anywhere, in any state. In-person visits happen wherever we have a Local Nerd, within 75 miles of the city they work from.
