Remote help works in Woodward today. In-person visits are coming.

A 30-minute remote session is $39 and handles most computer, phone, email, password and account problems without anybody driving anywhere. In-person visits open here as soon as we have a Local Nerd on the ground, and that is a real bottleneck rather than a marketing date. If that could be you, we would like to hear from you.

What we help with

If it plugs in and nobody can figure it out, we can help.

No jargon, no sighing, no making you feel silly for asking. We explain what we are doing while we do it, and we are glad to explain it twice.

Wi-Fi that reaches the whole house

The back bedroom with no signal, the guest network nobody can remember, the router hidden in a closet doing its best. Usually it is placement, not your internet plan.

Computers that have gotten slow or strange

Slow, cluttered, full of things you did not install. We will clean it up, get it current, and set up a backup that runs without you thinking about it.

Phones and tablets, without the eye-rolling

Setting up a new one, moving everything across, photos, passwords, and making the text bigger without breaking anything.

Sitting down and learning it properly

Some of our best visits are entirely teaching. No fixing, just going through it until it makes sense and you can do it on your own.

TVs, streaming and “where did my channel go”

Streaming is genuinely confusing and there are too many apps. We will get it working and leave you with something you can operate without a manual.

The printer. Yes, that printer.

Wireless printers are genuinely badly designed and it is not your fault. We will get it printing and scanning and leave it that way.

Smart home gear that actually behaves

Half of smart home gear gets installed by whoever sold it and explained to nobody. We make it work together and make sure the alerts reach you.

Scams, pop-ups and “is this email real?”

If something on the screen is trying to scare you into calling a number, that is the scam. We will clean it up and show you how to recognise it.

Woodward, specifically

What tech help looks like around here.

Northwest Oklahoma is the emptiest country we serve. The distances are long enough that an in-person visit is not a realistic promise here, so we do not make one. What we do instead is remote help that actually works: a scheduled call, a screen share if it helps, and somebody who stays with it until it is fixed.

We love making it easy

Patient, unhurried help, especially for the 55+ crowd.

Being far from a city should not mean being far from help. A lot of what we do out here is patient, unhurried phone work with people who have nobody else to ask, and it is some of the most worthwhile work we do.

Our whole approach comes down to one idea: you should leave the visit more confident than when we arrived. Anybody can fix a thing and go. We would rather show you what we did and why, in words that mean something, so that next time you have a shot at it yourself. If you would rather we just handle it, that is fine too. But the offer is always open, and plenty of people take us up on it.

Where we go from Woodward

Towns we reach in Woodward & Northwest Oklahoma.

Our service area is a distance, not a state line. We measure straight-line miles from Woodward and the hourly rate steps up the farther we drive, which is how the drive gets paid for. That is 41 towns across Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma, covering Woodward, Woods, Harper, Ellis, Dewey and Major counties.

Buying this for a parent?

A lot of our calls come from a grown child, not the person who needs the help.

Somebody two states away is worried that Mom cannot get the TV back to normal, or that Dad keeps getting locked out of his email, and there is nobody nearby to just go and sit with them. You can arrange it for them. Book the session or gift a membership, we handle it directly with them at a time that suits, and you do not have to talk anybody through anything over the phone at nine at night.

Questions

Straight answers about Woodward.

Will Woodward get in-person visits?

Not in the near term, and we would rather say that than string you along. The distances here are too long for us to promise a visit we cannot reliably make. Remote help is available today and covers most of what people need.

What can you actually fix over the phone?

Most software problems, email and account trouble, passwords, phones and tablets, printers, streaming apps, settings, scams and security questions, and teaching. What we cannot do remotely is physically replace a part or run a cable.

How much does tech help cost in Woodward?

Remote help is $39 for a 30-minute session. In-person visits start at $110 an hour within 25 miles of Woodward, $130 in the 25 to 50 mile band and $145 from 50 to 75 miles, because the higher rate is how we pay for the drive. There is also a Nerd on Call membership at $19.99 a month that includes two remote sessions and an in-person visit a year plus 20% off anything extra. You always approve the price before we start.

Do you help older adults in Woodward with technology?

Absolutely, and we would rather you ask than struggle. No rushing, no talking down, no assuming you already know what a setting is. Tell us you would like to understand it rather than just have it fixed and we will teach you instead.

Are you a repair shop?

No, and it matters. We are a setup-and-support service: we get things working, connected and understood. We do not do board-level repair or data recovery on failed drives, and if that is what you need we will tell you plainly instead of charging you to find out.

Become a Local Nerd

We open a market when somebody local is ready to run it.

That is the honest bottleneck. Not demand, not geography: a Local Nerd who knows the area, likes people, and is good at explaining things. Set your own availability, keep the majority of every booking, and help your neighbors with the stuff they cannot get their heads around. See what the role involves or apply here.
