Ponca City, Blackwell, Tonkawa, Newkirk, Kaw City, Fairfax and up to the Kansas line. Friendly tech help explained clearly and at your pace. Remote today; in-person visits open when we have a Local Nerd here.
Remote help is $39 for a 30-minute session, available in Ponca City today. In-person visits open here when we have a Local Nerd on the ground.
A 30-minute remote session is $39 and handles most computer, phone, email, password and account problems without anybody driving anywhere. In-person visits open here as soon as we have a Local Nerd on the ground, and that is a real bottleneck rather than a marketing date. If that could be you, we would like to hear from you.
No jargon, no sighing, no making you feel silly for asking. We explain what we are doing while we do it, and we are glad to explain it twice.
The back bedroom with no signal, the guest network nobody can remember, the router hidden in a closet doing its best. Usually it is placement, not your internet plan.
Slow, cluttered, full of things you did not install. We will clean it up, get it current, and set up a backup that runs without you thinking about it.
New TV set up and mounted, streaming apps sorted out, remotes that work, and one clear explanation of which button does what.
Some of our best visits are entirely teaching. No fixing, just going through it until it makes sense and you can do it on your own.
Photos, contacts, passwords and the settings nobody can find. We will get it set up the way you actually want to use it.
Wireless printers are genuinely badly designed and it is not your fault. We will get it printing and scanning and leave it that way.
Half of smart home gear gets installed by whoever sold it and explained to nobody. We make it work together and make sure the alerts reach you.
If something on the screen is trying to scare you into calling a number, that is the scam. We will clean it up and show you how to recognise it.
Ponca City has a lot of solid mid-century housing built when nobody was thinking about wireless anything, and it shows. Brick, plaster and detached garages make for dead spots that no amount of paying for faster internet will fix. This is a market where the answer is usually placement and a second access point rather than a bigger bill.
A lot of households here have lived in the same house for thirty or forty years and have watched the technology change around them four separate times. There is nothing wrong with wanting somebody to just sit down and explain the current version. That is the whole job as far as we are concerned.
Here is the thing we actually believe: technology is supposed to work for you, not the other way round. If something takes six steps and three passwords, that is a design failure, not a you failure. We are happy to be the ones who sit down, sort it out, and then show you how it works so it stays sorted. Ask us to go slower and we will. Ask us to write it down and we will. Ask us the same question next month and we will answer it the same way, without the sigh.
Our service area is a distance, not a state line. We measure straight-line miles from Ponca City and the hourly rate steps up the farther we drive, which is how the drive gets paid for. That is 64 towns across Kansas and Oklahoma, covering Kay, Osage, Noble and Grant counties, plus Cowley and Sumner counties in Kansas.

Somebody two states away is worried that Mom cannot get the TV back to normal, or that Dad keeps getting locked out of his email, and there is nobody nearby to just go and sit with them. You can arrange it for them. Book the session or gift a membership, we handle it directly with them at a time that suits, and you do not have to talk anybody through anything over the phone at nine at night.
Send a Nerd →Not yet. Remote help works today. In-person visits open when we have a Local Nerd here, and the waitlist is how you hear about it.
For a good part of Cowley and Sumner counties, yes. Arkansas City, Winfield and Wellington all fall inside the 75 miles we measure from the Ponca City anchor. The service area is a radius, not a state.
Remote help is $39 for a 30-minute session. In-person visits start at $110 an hour within 25 miles of Ponca City, $130 in the 25 to 50 mile band and $145 from 50 to 75 miles, because the higher rate is how we pay for the drive. There is also a Nerd on Call membership at $19.99 a month that includes two remote sessions and an in-person visit a year plus 20% off anything extra. You always approve the price before we start.
Absolutely, and we would rather you ask than struggle. No rushing, no talking down, no assuming you already know what a setting is. Tell us you would like to understand it rather than just have it fixed and we will teach you instead.
No, and it matters. We are a setup-and-support service: we get things working, connected and understood. We do not do board-level repair or data recovery on failed drives, and if that is what you need we will tell you plainly instead of charging you to find out.
That is the honest bottleneck. Not demand, not geography: a Local Nerd who knows the area, likes people, and is good at explaining things. Set your own availability, keep the majority of every booking, and help your neighbors with the stuff they cannot get their heads around. See what the role involves or apply here.
Remote help works anywhere, in any state. In-person visits happen wherever we have a Local Nerd, within 75 miles of the city they work from.
