The honest details
- Who can join?Anyone. You do not have to be a member, a Nerd, or a business. If you know people who could use a hand with their tech, you qualify.
- Is there a limit?No. There is no cap on how many members you can refer or how much you can earn.
- When exactly do I get paid?After the member you referred makes their third monthly payment. If they cancel before then, that referral does not pay out.
- How does the money reach me?Through Stripe, our payment processor. You set up payout on Stripe's own secure screen, and the money goes to your bank account.
- Is this taxable?Yes. This is real 1099 income, not a gift card or store credit. If we pay you $2,000 or more in a year, Stripe issues your 1099-NEC and files it with the IRS, so use your legal name and SSN or EIN when you set up payout.
- What does the person I refer get?A free month of Nerd on Call after their third monthly payment, on top of joining a membership they were going to like anyway.
