Southeast Oklahoma is the most rugged country we serve, and internet service out here reflects that. Around Lake Eufaula and up into the Kiamichi Mountains, a lot of households are on satellite or fixed wireless, which behaves differently from cable and needs to be set up differently. Knowing that difference is most of the job. We will tell you what your connection can and cannot do rather than selling you gear that will not help.
Lake Eufaula has drawn retirees for decades and a lot of them are a long way from the nearest place to get help. Remote sessions are genuinely good here, and we will stay on the phone until it works rather than watching a clock.
What we believe, in one sentence: being confused by this stuff is not a personal failing. It changes every couple of years, nobody sends a memo, and the instructions assume you already know. We are happy to be the ones who explain it properly, at whatever pace suits you, as many times as it takes. Writing it down on paper so you have it later is not a strange request. We do it most weeks.

Usually yes. Satellite has more lag than cable, so screen sharing feels slower, but it works. If your connection is too poor for a screen share we will talk you through it by phone instead, which is how a lot of these sessions go and they still work.
Remote help is $39 for a 30-minute session. In-person visits start at $110 an hour within 25 miles of McAlester, $130 in the 25 to 50 mile band and $145 from 50 to 75 miles, because the higher rate is how we pay for the drive. There is also a Nerd on Call membership at $19.99 a month that includes two remote sessions and an in-person visit a year plus 20% off anything extra. You always approve the price before we start.
Yes. A large share of our work is unhurried one-on-one help for older adults, and we are good at it because we actually enjoy it. We go at your pace, we explain as we go, and we will gladly write the steps down for you to keep.
We are not. Think of us as setup and support rather than repair: connecting, configuring, cleaning up and teaching. Hardware failures and data recovery are somebody else's job, and we will tell you that up front rather than after an hour on the clock.
That is the honest bottleneck. Not demand, not geography: a Local Nerd who knows the area, likes people, and is good at explaining things.
